Providing Medical Care
One of the ways we want to reach the people is through providing health and medical care along with basic dental and vision.  Just like Jesus did when he went about healing and curing diseases or giving sight to the blind, He was meetings their needs and showing the people he cared about them enough to provide and care for them.  We see how the people flocked to Christ because of his kindness and willingness to help people.  We too want to use this basic principle to help reach souls with the gospel of our Lord and Savior by providing health care for the Malagasy people.
It was a blessing to have had the opportunity to take the two week medical intensive course at Equip International in Marion, NC.  It was a long and tiring two weeks, but I was able to learn much about medical care.  We had classes during the day and much studying during the evenings and late into the night.  We were taught how to give physical exams and also how to diagnose any symptoms or illness a person may have.  Also what treatments to use and how to give the right doses for adults and children.  It was alot of fun especially when we were able to give each other shots and learning to suture along with dental work and even how to deliver a baby.  I thank God for this opportunity to learn some much needed skills to help take care of my family and also take care of our orphan children and others we will be able to help with physical illnesses.  If anyone is interested in these classes you can visit their web-site at www.equipinternational.com
We could really use any medical equipment and tools for the field if anyone knows a nurse or doctor that could donate them.  Stethoscopes, otoscopes, and surgical tools are needed to help provide basic care for the people.
Classes finished up also at the Lion's Club in Midland, TX. We had two good days of training so I will be able to prescribe glasses to the needy Malagasy people.  One of Helen Keller's last prayer request was to help the world see and hear better.  The Lion's Club has honored her wishes and does a good job helping to train missionaries so people can see better.  No point in giving them a Bible if they can't see to read, Amen. Also, the we will be given 3600 pair of glasses to take with us to Madagascar and use to help be a blessing.  If you have any reading glasses or even prescription glasses (and you know the prescription for them) please send those so we can ship them to Madagascar.  Also, I will need a focometer to check their vision.  A new focometer is $500, and it would be a blessing if anyone knows of any eye doctor that would donate one for the ministry.
Also any dental tools could be a blessing since Madagascar people are not taught good hygiene.  Tooth brushes, tooth paste, etc. are highly needed.  Thank you and God bless
For women living in developing countries, childbirth is risky business. More than 50 million women give birth at home annually without the help of a trained professional. One woman dies of pregnancy-related complications every minute on earth............
Women die everyday in Madagascar
as a result of blood poisoning due to
miscarriages..............
